Old Florida, But Always Fresh

Florida's Forgotten Coast along the panhandle skips the resort strip for something older: unpretentious beaches, real comfort food, a coastline that hasn't been touched up. No high-rises, no line to get in. Locals have known this for years.

St. George Island Has No Skyline

See pristine beaches at St. George Island State Park. This park is so beautiful, it won’t matter that it’s a bit isolated. Just be sure to stop for snacks and drinks before you head out, because once you’re in the park, options are limited.

Apalachicola In An Afternoon

Wander around historic Apalachicola. Our favorite spot on the Forgotten Coast. This small town is loaded with things to do, notably the higher end (but still casual) restaurant, the Franklin. Also, snag a coffee at Apalachicola Chocolate & Coffee Company to grab something iced (trust us) before walking around the town shops and galleries. Apalachicola is best enjoyed with limited planning.

Oyster Boats, Not Yachts

Hop on over to Oyster City Brewery. We do not apologize for the pun. Enjoy a tour of the brewery in the heart of Apalachicola, and beat the heat with a cold beer before taking in some sights and shopping.

The Water Runs This Coastline

Rent a boat and fish. There are options to rent one yourself or hire a captain (which we recommend, as we don’t have a boating license). Seriously, fishing is what this coastline is all about.
